Keychron has been on a roll lately when it comes to putting keyboard hardware in unorthodox case materials. First, it was the Q16 HE and its ceramic case, then the K2 HE All-Wood Edition, and the slew of concrete, resin, and marble keyboards we saw at CES 2026. The latest unorthodox keyboard to come out of Keychron is the K3 Max All-Wood Edition, which takes the K3 Max 75% low-profile mechanical keyboard, puts it into a wood case, and upgrades the switches to the new Keychron Milk POM low-profile switches. Unlike the K2 HE All-Wood Special Edition, the K3 Max’s wood case doesn’t result in the negative drawback of an extreme front height, and the K3 Max All-Wood Special Edition still only measures in at 10.7 mm in the front, with that jumping to 20.2 mm when taking the keycaps into account. That’s under 3 mm taller than the regular K3 Max.
The K3 Max All-Wood Special Edition keyboard is currently available on Keychron’s online store for $119.99, and it can be had with both Milk POM linear red switches or tactile brown switches. There is no clicky or silent switch option, but the keyboard uses standard Gateron KS-33 hot-swap switch sockets, so any matching switches will work as aftermarket upgrades. The All-Wood Special Edition is made of walnut wood, and it has the same steel plate as the regular K3 Max. That means it features both 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless connectivity, all the convenience features typical of Keychron keyboards, and a 1550 mAh battery that is meant to deliver up to 86 hours of battery life. The keycap profile is also Keychron’s regular LSA, and the keycaps are double-shot PBT, although they are color-matched to the wood chassis.
