This morning, Neptune finally stations direct after about five months. If you’ve felt overwhelmed by negativity, it might be easier to find things to be optimistic about again — but while there’s nothing wrong with a bit of fantasy, make sure you’re not losing touch with reality entirely. Then in the afternoon, Mercury and Uranus (in Scorpio and Taurus, respectively) might bring exciting opportunities and chance encounters your way — but if you aren’t careful, they could also make it hard to pay attention, and easy to make questionable decisions.
Today, you could discover that some people are harboring jealousies and resentments toward you — ones you had no idea about. It’s especially annoying because you place such a high value on straightforwardness; you do your best to tell people when you’re frustrated with them or when your needs aren’t being met, and you wish they respected you enough to do the same. If they’d been more honest, you imagine, you could’ve resolved the issue sooner. But try not to dwell on the past: What matters most is that at least you know now, and can do something to fix it.
The more enthusiastic you are about your own ideas, today, the more difficult it might be to listen to anyone else. It’s not that you’re trying to ignore your friends when they offer feedback, just that you’re too wrapped up in your own thoughts. But make an effort to get out of your own head, at least long enough to take in what others are trying to tell you. Chances are, they have insights to share that could genuinely help you — and you’ll miss out if you’re too focused on yourself.
You might feel especially motivated to help other people today. You care about making the world a better place, and you have the energy now to take meaningful action. Just be careful not to barge in before asking people what they actually need from you. It would be all too easy to operate based on your own assumptions about what is useful, only to end up getting in the way. Ask plenty of questions — and just as importantly, genuinely listen to the answers — before you decide on your next move.
Some people seem like they’re perpetually bored by what others have to say, like they’re only ever waiting for their turn to talk. You, however, take pains to be a good listener: You make an effort to ask good questions and give others your full attention. But today you’re likely to be preoccupied by your own thoughts, and you might not listen as carefully as usual. Don’t beat yourself up about it — there’s nothing wrong with focusing on yourself sometimes — just be aware that you might miss out on some nuances or jump to the wrong conclusions about people.
Even in the best of times, you don’t tend to respond well when people tell you what to do — and today, you’ll probably have less patience than usual. As well-intentioned as others might be, they’re likely suggesting things you’ve already tried, recommending unrealistic strategies, revealing their ignorance of your situation. And even if their advice is relatively sensible, you’ll probably still resent the intrusion. You’re well within your rights to find it irritating when people overstep — just make sure you’re not turning around and doing the same thing to others.
It’s very likely that any plans for the day will need to be changed — not because your plans weren’t solid, but because of circumstances you couldn’t have foreseen. In times like this, it can be tempting to stubbornly stick to your original goals; you worry you’ll come across as wishy-washy and unreliable if you change course. But right now, rigidity will only lead to frustration for everyone. Adapting to the situation as it unfolds doesn’t make you weak; at least for now making up a new plan as you go might be the best thing you can do.
Some questions have objective, definitive answers, but plenty of others are more complex than that — and today, you’re more likely to be dealing with the latter. The more you search for a clear yes or no, the more frustrated you become; the more you try to find a straightforward solution, the more you’ll get tangled up in ambiguities and nuances. As much as you want the satisfaction of a single, conclusive resolution, try to accept that life can be complicated, and sometimes “maybe” or “it depends” is the truest answer.
When you already know that you’re right about something, you’re not particularly inclined to listen to opposing viewpoints. It’s not that you’re generally closed-minded, just that you don’t see the point of entertaining ideas that you firmly believe to be wrong. Today, though, you’d do well to listen anyway. Even if you’re not open to being persuaded, simply learning how other people think can be a valuable exercise — and there’s always a possibility that you’ll discover important considerations that you previously overlooked.
Over time you’ve learned, probably the hard way, that it doesn’t always pay to go with the flow. In order to create the life you want, it’s sometimes necessary to play a more active role in chasing opportunities and making things happen. Today, though, your efforts are unlikely to pan out the way you think — the world is unpredictable, and no amount of hard work or careful strategizing can give you total control over your future. For now, letting go of your plans and taking things one step at a time might be the best course of action.
You tend to get impatient with meaningless small talk and conversations that seem frivolous. You’d rather talk about issues that matter; part of you would prefer a heated argument to a bland, meandering discussion that goes nowhere. Today, though, isn’t the best day for weighty topics — the potential for confusion is too high, and you’re unlikely to make much progress. So for now, give yourself permission to keep conversations lighthearted, to lean on your sense of humor. Far from being a waste of your time, it could strengthen relationships.
You could be excited to make big plans for the future, today. You’re tired of stalling, of being told to be patient, of second-guessing yourself: You’re ready to finally *do *something. But right now, your eagerness to take action means that you’ll be quick to jump at any opportunity, even one that’s clearly wrong for you. So, in spite of your impatience, make an effort to move with care. If you can slow down a bit, you’ll see your situation more clearly, and you’ll be better equipped to take the right next step.
It might feel like your mind is moving faster than usual today — you’re processing new information, coming up with solutions to your problems, and perhaps even talking more quickly. In some situations, this could be useful: Sometimes, there’s genuinely no time to waste, and you need to act decisively. But as much as possible, try not to rush: You’re likely to make mistakes that way, and even small errors right now could produce frustrating issues down the line. If you make an effort to take your time, your future self will thank you.
