When you look at HTML overviews (e.g., take the HTML elements index or my free ebook listing all HTML elements and attributes), you get a quick sense of what HTML elements mean (i.e., their semantics).

But when you have a closer look, you may actually need more than “heading” or “hyperlink” to understand what an element represents.
