First off, huge congratulations are in order for the team at Anna’s Archive for their massive release this week. Preserving 300TB of music history and creating the world’s largest open music metadata database is no small engineering feat. It’s a win for preservationists everywhere.

Seeing their work got us thinking about how different organizations approach data extraction. While Anna’s Archive likely had to reverse-engineer private APIs and handle massive backend logistical challenges, we wanted to show how DeepWalker tackles complex platforms like Spotify from a completely different angle: the user interface.

We decided to take DeepWalker for a spin to see how it handles a session on Spotify.
