-What is this? This is an unofficial/adjunct thread to @Omicron’s Let’s Play Every Final Fantasy Game In Release Order thread, specifically covering whatever sort of tie-in and supplementary media has been released over the years (Last Order, Spirits Within, etc.) and isn’t covered by the main thread (i.e. Advent Children). Quality not guaranteed! in contrast to Omi’s main thread, this is meant to be a more informal and decentralized watch-along.

-Dear God, why? Because some sickos (like me) wanted to talk about stuff like Spirits Within without flooding the main thread with semi-unrelated discourse or browbeating Omi into watching stuff he might not have the time or desire to cover on his own.

-How will this function? We’ll be covering major releases of visual (and some text and audio), grouped roughly together by game. Stuff that’s minor or especially short/ephemeral may be grouped together. The plan is for one entry per month starting Oct. 1, 2025. We may have to pause when getting to FFX depending on Om’s progress.

-What about spoilers? Since this is a side thread to Omi’s, any spoilers about upcoming games he hasn’t played/stuff he hasn’t watched are strictly prohibited. Don’t spoil people on things we haven’t watched. Please take them to the Official Spoiler Thread if need be. Spoilers for anything he has already covered, or that we have already watched are fair game.

-What about the FFXV movies & Dad of Light? TBD. It’s Omi’s prerogative if he wants to watch/talk about them in the main thread or not.

-Who’s in charge of this mess? I’m the one who suggested the idea and made the thread, so I suppose that’s me. The discussion itself is meant to be book or film club style, so everyone is encouraged to contribute. Recommendations + suggestions are welcomed and encouraged.
