What I Learned Building a Storage Engine That Outperforms RocksDB

I spent the past two years building TidesDB, an embeddable key-value storage engine written in C. But this isn’t version 1.0 - it’s version 7.0. There have been many revisions(majors, minors and patches), complete rewrites, failed experiments. I learn constantly, obsessively. Each version taught me something new about storage engines, LSM-trees, lock-free algorithms, or the subtle ways systems break.
