Meet Gopher: Big Thinking from Big Text

Researchers built a very large language system called Gopher to see what happens when computers read lots and lots of writing. As the models grew in scale, they got much better at simple tasks like answering questions and spotting wrong facts, but they did not always improve at tricky logic or math. The biggest wins were in reading and understanding, so tasks like reading comprehension and fact-checking improved a lot.
