Stiegler's Technics and Time 2 speaks of programs we operate by, written language as programmatic, and words as the constituent technic. In that context, an instance could be the process of writing new programs for oneself after reflection and analysis: journal your day explicitly and read it for patterns, look for your ideal situation and to situate yourself there, and then write your new program, rereading to remember.

It fits neatly with Foucault's example of self-writing, self-bricolage, but encourages deeper analysis of self and world as material.
