wooden box with USB cable recharges disposable batteries
RegenBox 1 is a portable wooden box designed to recharge disposable AA and AAA alkaline batteries, even with a power bank. A DIY kit that users need to assemble themselves, the device comes with a USB port and power cable that supply energy to the recharger box. The user receives separate parts rather than a finished product, from the printed circuit board to electronic components. However, they need to be handy people because these parts must be soldered together, so this DIY kit needs a soldering iron, solder, and basic knowledge of electronic assembly.

A voltmeter is required to measure battery voltage before and after regeneration, and pliers, wire cutters, and a screwdriver are used to shape and secure connections. Once assembled, the wooden box recharges AA and AAA batteries that are usually discarded after voltage drops. In this way, they’re given a new cycle of power for appliances and devices at homes and workplaces. The user, however, needs to check the voltage levels of the cells before deciding whether or not to use the wooden box that recharges disposable batteries.

DIY kit for users to have their own charging device
Power is supplied through a USB cable, allowing the device to run from common power sources such as power banks, computers, or adapters. No dedicated charger is required, and the electronics are enclosed in a case made from wood that is cut and engraved by machine. The case protects the circuit while allowing access when repairs or changes are needed since it is not sealed or locked. The kit includes a link to a digital user manual rather
The RegenBox 1 device supports only alkaline batteries in AA and AAA sizes. Other battery formats are excluded unless the user modifies the circuit, but this risk and responsibility are up to the users who choose to extend the system and do so knowingly. The device supports reuse rather than replacement by extending the battery life of disposable alkaline batteries using a power box that recharges, saving resources and lowering waste at a small scale. The design also supports repair culture, allowing beginner users to learn how to measure and assemble using a digital manual. At the moment, the RegenBox 1 starts shipping again in the middle of December 2025.
