We talk a lot about laptops here, and for most people, that means you’re either using a Windows or macOS product. If you’re a Windows user, but have been thinking about moving over to macOS, it’s hard to say whether you’re going to like it.
Some people love it and swear they could never go back to Windows, while others can’t really understand why Mac computers get so much hype. Naturally, it’s going to depend on how you use your computer, but if you’re someone that just wants to dive in head first, we think the MacBook Pro is a great choice.
Tons of power
The design is sleek and refined, and the 14-inch screen is also quite good as well, with impressive color accuracy. The MacBook Pro is powered by Apple’s M5 chip, which delivers an impressive experience. It powers through pretty much anything you can throw at it, and does it without breaking a sweat.
Of course, it doesn’t hurt that this particular model also comes with 24GB of RAM. In addition, you also get 1TB of SSD storage. For the most part, this laptop is ready for even the most intensive tasks, easily being able to handle photo and video editing, graphic design, and so much more.
When it comes to port selection, you’re looking at three Thunderbolt 4 ports, along with HDMI, MagSafe and an SD card slot. The wireless connectivity is also good with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
What makes this laptop special?
Well, ever since converting its products to run its own silicon, Apple has been delivering powerful products that also have excellent battery life. This is something that was once unheard of, and is still not quite the norm when it comes to Windows products.
Naturally, the battery life of the MacBook Pro is going to depend on how you use it, but Apple states you’ll get up to 24 hours of use. In the real world, you can probably expect a little less, but you can easily work for eight to ten hours without any need to worry. The good news is that charging is relatively fast thanks to Apple’s 70W charger.
Should you buy it?
That’s a tough question to answer. Personally, I’ve used both Windows and Mac. But when it comes to the basics, I like getting things done on my MacBook. For the most part, it’s going to be about whether this laptop is right for you.
It has everything you need, but if it’s your first Mac, then there is going to be a learning curve for macOS. Again, some people love it, and others just can’t let go of Windows. It’s important to use what works for you. The good news is that if you’re ready to buy, the MacBook Pro is now $200 less, making it a great time to pick one up.
