Choosing a monitor in 2025 isn’t easy. There are just way too many great options available, which is actually a really good problem to have. Choosing a monitor in 2025 isn’t easy. There are just way too many great options available, which is actually a really good problem to have. Of course, if you’re focused on buying the best, there’s only one true option in our opinion, and that comes in the form of Alienware’s AW2725Q gaming monitor.
In our review, we gave this monitor a 9/10, and dubbed it "the best." The QD-OLED display delivers impressive colors and performance, while the price remains competitive with other products in the same category. So, you can imagine our surprise when we saw it on sale.
It’s not perfect, but it’s close
This is a 27-inch 4K QD-OLED monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time. The quality of the panel is quite good, offering impressive colors and black levels, with support for Dolby Vision and VESA’s DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification.
Furthermore, the monitor delivers the best image quality during gaming with VESA’s AdaptiveSync, Nvidia’s G-Sync as well as AMD’s FreeSync technologies. What makes all of this even better is that Alienware has tuned the monitor for use straight out of the box.
When it comes to connectivity, you get two HDMI, one DisplayPort, USB-C, and three USB-A ports. There’s also RGB lighting on the rear that can be customized. It’s pretty much the perfect package.
Some small things we didn’t like
Most people are going to find that this monitor is a perfect fit. While we loved pretty much everything about this monitor in our review, we didn’t like that the USB-C port only provided 15W of power, and that there was no DisplayPort 2.1 port.
Furthermore, we did wish that this monitor had a KVM switch built in. Again, these are very minor things that you probably won’t even notice. Again, most people are going to be blown away by this monitor. And with its $200 discount, it’s an even better buy.
