China’s LineShine supercomputer, installed at the National Supercomputing Centre in Shenzhen, debuted at No. 1 on the June 2026 TOP500 ranking announced at ISC 2026 in Hamburg, Germany, after achieving 2.198 exaflops on the High Performance Linpack benchmark. The result displaced the U.S. Energy Department’s El Capitan system at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, which ranked second at 1.809 exaflops.
