I figured this was some update for firefox, but now that I dug into it to fix it it turns out that it is a gtk thing that apparently each app has to opt out of! I could disable it by flipping w... In Obsidian, I’ve quit creating separate files for my blogging and for many site articles. I write in the top of my draft/dump file, copy and paste, and when it’s published, delete it. So for the most part, Obsidian files are no longer the “vault of record” for my work (Cp. NYTimes byline.)Confession: Keeping up with files, papers, agendas, and journals is a lost cause. Not even heirs will want to deal with this. Maybe I should declare a weekly Dump Day.Friends have graciously accepted to cre... Read more ›

We have the pleasure of celebrating the birthday of Blaise Pascal by announcing the release of OCaml version 5.5.0. Some of the highlights in OCaml 5.5.0 are: Module-dependent Functions Modules can now be used as function arguments in a form of lightweight functors. For instance, we can define a function for printing a map generated by the Map.Make functor: let pp_map (module M: Map.S) pp_key pp_v ppf set = if M.is_empty set then Format.fprintf ppf "ø" else let pp_sep ppf () = Fo... Provenance-enhanced statements of the form "according to $X$, $\varphi$" are pervasive in contemporary knowledge graphs, especially in domains where graph content primarily represents claims, interpretations, and hypotheses (\emph{capta}) rather than observer-independent facts (\emph{data}). Current provenance models can record who asserted what, but they typically treat provenance as semantically neutral, leaving underspecified how attributed c... Read more ›
