About this mod
Aurian is a custom voiced Altmer follower with around ~1100 lines of dialogue. He has recently arrived to Skyrim on a tour of the province in honor of his late partner, Ortvar. He is feeling a bit lonely and overwhelmed so would very much appreciate a travelling companion.
Permissions and credits
Aurian is a seasoned traveler, exploring much of the continent in his youth, but for the last 15 years he has been mourning the loss of his long-time partner Ortvar. Now he has decided to take the reigns of his life back and travel to Skyrim, the homeland of his beloved. He is a very kind and thoughtful soul, but will always help you out in a pinch. After all he has travelled Tamriel. One doesn’t survive such a jaunt without picking up a few things. He provides commentary on the Main quest, Companions, Thieves guild, College of Winterhold and Civil war. With more to come.
Some features: Aurian is a low impact follower, in the sense of he won’t ever abandon you for your choices, he may offer his perspective or advice but he is a ride or die companion. Some of his features include:
Time-based dialogue: Youcan ask Aurian his opinion of you and his answer will change based on how long you have travelled with him. You can also find out more of his backstory as time goes on. He needs to feel comfortable before sharing about his past. Combat style options: You can ask Aurian to change his combat style. His default is a spellsword, flinging fireballs before getting in close with his trusty Scimitar. He can also go pure melee or pure battlemage. Just don’t ask him to be an archer, you won’t have much luck in that department. **Stories from his past: **After a long days adventure what better way to relax around the campfire than with asking Aurian about his travels!

(Aurian artwork by me)**Backstory:(Spoiler warning! All of this can be discovered in game) **

Aurian was born In 4E 147 to wealthy parents in the High elvencapital of Alinor. His parents were high up in Altmeri court and provided luxury for their only son. Despite this his upbringing was plagued by constant fighting between his parents. He grew up with a skewed perception of how love should be. He never saw his parents show any romantic affection for one another, it was just constant disagreements. Due to their status Aurian was often left alone in the sprawling manor. Their over-protectiveness meant he was allowed no independence or friends.
When he was a youngman he enrolled in university, his parents were adamant that he become a diplomat and to one day join the Dominion. He learnt how to be charismatic and deceitful. He was also given extensive knowledge in histories and political landscapes of the continent. While studying he became infatuated with one of his classmates, a young Altmer from a low standing family. They were caught in a lovers embrace by university staff. To avoid public shame Aurians parents sent their sons lover away. After baring all he could Aurian left in the middle of the night and used his only money to buy his way onto a ship to Valenwood. From here he travelled the continent as a vagabond, a far cry from the life he knew. He would use his university trained charm and wit to stay alive, talking his way into food and shelter. After a few years of travel, he met a Nord called Ortvar while in Hammerfell. Ortvar was a Poet, he was exploring the continent to find new inspiration for his words. Love quickly blossomed between them and they had many adventures together.
Around the time ofthe 4E171, they lived in a small house in Chorrol, Cyrrodil. They ran a bookshop together. Their venture didn’t make much money but they were truly happy. Every week Ortvar would perform in the local tavern, his words captivating the hearts of the townfolk. In 4E175 the White gold concordat was signed and the worship of Talos outlawed. After many years of living in peace and love 4E184 happened. During this year Ortvar wrote a poem that had mention of Talos, who he still secretly worshipped. After performing said poem the thalmor got wind of it. They came one night and dragged the two lovers out of bed, they beat the two of them before holding Aurians eyes open while they slit the throat of Ortvar. They told Aurian he was a traitor to his race. After leaving Aurian held Ortvars body all night before the townsfolk came and helped with a burial.
Now 17 years laterAurian wears a face of confidence. But beneath this mask he is still shattered by his true love being so mercilessly slaughtered in front of him. After many years of grief he has come to Skyrim to explore the homeland of his late lover.
**Where to find him:**You will find Aurian at Dead mans drink in Solitude, he has only recently crossed the border from Cyrodil.

Aurian is safe to install mid game, however if you have already been to Sovngarde you will miss out on a small but heartfelt part of his story. Do NOT add him to any follower frameworks like NFF etc. Like many followers he uses a custom framework and operates independently of other followers. This means you can have him as well as a vanilla follower if you aren’t using a framework. Aurian is not romanceable. Feedback is always very much appreciated, I hope you enjoy your adventures with Aurian!Future updates: In the future I will be updating Aurian with full DLC quest commentary, as well as various side quests and locational dialogue. Any suggestions for future updates will be appreciated. ** ****Credits:**This mod was written, voiced and implemented by myself. Thank you to Joseph Russel for his wonderful tutorials on how to get the framework up and running, and thank you to all the mod authors who have made such excellent followers over the years which have greatly inspired Aurians creation!P.s. When you arrive in The hall of Valor, keep an eye out for someone. ;)
