Hello Reddit. For the past while I’ve been reading this Reddit profusely, but now I have a question. I’m willing to endure a slowed start up experience in exchange for some of the plug-ins that I use however I’m noticing that every now and again and again my workspace is the problem. It only ever happens the first time I am launching obsidian on the laptop after powering down or after a few hours of not using. For the past two months I’ve been keeping track of nearly every time obsidian starts up to find averages on how long it takes things comparatively. However I have noticed that the timing is sometime thrown off by if obsidian is not focused so I try and exclude those runs entirely but I also have a little thing to remove outliers. The results of my data are as follows Section averages: Initialisation: 1100.2 ms Vault: 1021.8 ms Workspace: 14620.9 ms Core plug-ins: 276.0 ms Community plug-ins: 3545.5 ms

I excluded it from the average, but one time I had my workspace take 53 seconds. I was presented with the option to reload the app, but I was curious. My main question is what is happening in start-up during the workspace section. Would anyone have any recommendations on how I could decrease the start-up time for workspace. I’d be fine waiting seven or so seconds for Obsidian to start up which is about the total of all the other sections but waiting nearly a minute and frequently over 30 seconds for workspace has become very tiresome. A list of plug-ins that I am using is quick add Tasks Advanced tables Metadata menu Dataview Editing toolbar Edge TTS Style settings

I have a few others, the usual start-up time for those is around 70 ms I have the feeling that tasks meta data menu and data view probably index the entire vault on start-up. But I feel like this would increase the plug-in start-up time rather than workspace. Is that the culprit? If relevant the start-up time on my phone is usually near instant
