There are two storage sizes available: a 4TB option for $399 and a larger 8TB version for $599, which will both be available starting in early March. The Planck Studio features a USB-C port that supports the latest USB4 standard and a built-in screen that displays the name identifier, transfer speed, and available storage capacity.
Unlike ShiftCam’s smaller Planck SSDs, it can stick to the back of your phone using magnets like a wireless charging brick, similar to other mobile SSDs like SanDisk’s Dockcase and Creator Phone SSD, which makes it easier to keep track of when transferring files between your devices. If you do happen to lose the Planck Studio, however, also integrates with Apple and Google’s device finder networks to help you navigate to its current location.
