Your world is broken.
Dirt, destroyed.
Rock, ravaged.
Sky, shattered.
Probably other alliterations, too.
You hover above the cracked archipelago that was once your castle, sneering down at the polychromatic protagonists of all this destruction.
"You shall rue the day that you crossed me, Radiant Rainbowdrops!"
The leader of the aforementioned band has the temerity to huff, raising her pink (of course she’s pink) rod up to brandish it at you.
"No! By the power of The Rainbow Realm, and the strength of our friendship, this ends, now-"

Pink light gathers around Pink Featherdrop’s weapon, her face set in a determined glare. Blue Gemdrop whirls off to her left, her own rod shimmering with vibrant blue, and an eager orange appears on the other side, as Orange Leafdrop joins them.
"For Hope!"
"For Justice!"
"For Love!"
The three beams mix and merge and split and converge, whirling together in a dance of endless color before coalescing into a blinding white orb.
You raise a hand in reply, summoning up a shield of dark-
"Radiant Ray!"
And then things get very RAINBOW**-Y**.
"I…I think we did it?"
"We won!"
"Feather, I could kiss you!"
"I-"
"Girls, I felt your victory from Earth! Come quickly, though, before this pocket dimension crumbles!"
RUMBLE
"Okay let’s-wait, should we really be leaving her like thi-"
RUMBLE
"Her life is tied to this realm."
"But-"
RUMBLE RUMBLE
"She made her choice. Now come, quickly!"
The magical girls follow their mascot through the portal, leaving the disintegrating realm behind. Having vanquished a great evil, they are greeted as the heroes that they are, feted before all manner of spirits and fairies and gods, or whatever passes as such in their universe. At least one of them, probably. You don’t quite recall. That last blow took quite a bit out of you.
You rise from the crater you landed in, banishing the dust and stone clinging to you with a gesture, surveying the pile of partially-levitating rubble that used to be your base of operations.
RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE
A second gesture turns off the earthquake generators.
As if on cue, a multitude of figures pull themselves from where they were buried, or rise when they seem to be dead, or just appear. In particular:
**Minions (Choose 2):
[] Shifting Shades (Very Large number of flexible, expendable minions) (+1 Intrigue)
**A tide of darkness rushes through the landscape to take refuge in your shadow. You feel a small measure of its relief.
**[] Chivalrous Clockwork (Strong Melee Specialists, Expensive Magic Generalists, weaker but still relatively costly chaff) (+1 Martial) **A previously "dead" automaton rises to a kneel, every inch the knight it was built to be. You raise an eyebrow. It remains kneeling.
**[] Grubby Gremlins (Expert Engineers, otherwise middling) (+1 Stewardship) **"Waiwhahwa!" Exclaims Chief Engineer Whoosit, blinking in confusion as his war wagon pulls itself free of the mess.
**[] Vexatious Vampires (Elite Cadre, very small numbers, somewhat independent) (+1 Diplomacy) **Baroness Isolde bats over to your side, smirking despite the faint hints of holy pink fire she’s still patting out.
**[] Equable Elementals (Small to moderate numbers, start weak, grow stronger as they stay in place) (+1 Learning) **A bit of rubble stands up, its stoney face expressing consternation that it is no longer a small hill, and instead rises to your knee.
"Woah, they really did a number on this one."
You turn to find a being that somewhat resembles a lime green cross between a squirrel and a platypus, hovering in midair as he takes a good look at the battlefield.
You nod. "Hello again, Correl. Yes, I’m afraid that it’s a complete write-off. I’ll leave it to the local branch and set up a new one where we arrive. Speaking of which-"
The mascot bobs in the air. "Yes, yes, I have some new clients for you. Good job with the Rainbowdrops, by the by-if they did *this *to your base, then I’m sure that they can handle whatever…aliens or demons or zombies or whatever’s supposed to be coming. It was in the file…"
You accept his praise with a smile that becomes pleasantly neutral as he rambles on.
"Cough."
Did he just *say *cough?
"Right. Moving along. Your next clients."
The mascot pulls three folders out of somewhere, which open as they float up to easy reading height.
"To summarize:"
**[] World 878-CA **"A mostly mundane version of Earth, though it does at least have catgirls and stuff. An Alien Fairy Space Princess is going to flee here ahead of an invading army of interdimensional demons. Her tears will fall upon pure-hearted maidens, and empower them to stand against these dark legions. You’re going to have to delay the invasion while challenging those maidens, preparing them for the real threat, as usual."
**[] World 661-MT **"A version of Earth with a long history of Magical (and cat) Girls. They have these ancient holy sites on ley lines all over the world, and the local spirits choose a few girls each generation or so to be their guardians. They *mostly *have things handled, but one particular site is going to be ground zero for an invasion of mana-devourers. Nasty things. You’ll need to push the guardians past their limits, without being so far out of their reach that they’ll call down an entire Magical Girl Crusade on your head."
**[] World 281-SE **"A version of Earth where the local population (which includes catgirls, if you were wondering) is very used to constant magical invasions. Something about the interdimensional barriers being thin. Anyway, all that magic leaking everywhere means that demonic incursions and magical girl awakenings are old hat, and they can detect the latter pretty well. But a new type of demon is going to show up pretty soon, one better at slipping through their defenses and preparing surprises. You need to show up first, and get them used to fending off sneakier enemies."
You examine the dossiers for a bit longer, then turn to face Correl. He perks up. "Of course, whichever worlds you don’t pick will still be in good hands. Maybe even your own. You know how it is."
"That I do." You admit, mind flashing to that awkward time when both the past and future versions of yourself showed up at the same time, both declaring yourselves to be the Ultimate Champion Of Darkness.
…
"You really like catgirls."
"Of course. Have you heard of our Lord and Saviour, Nekohime-"
"I’ve made my choice." You say, snatching one of the folders out of the air.
