Back in August, IDLES released their soundtrack/score to Darren Aronofsky’s comic crime drama Caught Stealing. The film is set in NYC’s East Village and Lower East Side around the turn of the millenium, and they’ve now released an EP of remixes featuring artists who were around in that era. Interpol and Yeah Yeah Yeahs‘ Nick Zinner have both remixed “Rabbit Run,” while newer band Lip Critic have had a go at “Doom.”

Interpol and Yeah Yeah Yeahs‘ Nick Zinner have both remixed “Rabbit Run,” while newer band Lip Critic have had a go at “Doom.”
Interpol’s remix roughs things up and adds space, while Nick Zinner chops, slices and dices it. “I was so taken by the dynamic bombast of the original mix, that I just sat and listened to it, on repeat, for an embarrassing length of time,” says Interpol’s Sam Fogarino of his band’s remix. “A white knuckle roller coaster ride of a listen.” Lip Critic, meanwhile, provide the most radical remix, turning “Doom” from a dirge into a techno banger.

To celebrate the* Caught Stealing* soundtrack, IDLES turned NYC’s Night Club 101 back into the Pyramid Club for one sweaty night. Picture from that are below.
