ZURICH – US cotton growers licensed to the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) standard cut greenhouse gas emissions by 54 per cent in a single season. BCI claims the reduction came through a pilot project focused on regenerative farming practices. The claimed impact rose to 77 per cent when carbon removals were included.
