AI Regulatory Sandbox Approaches: EU Member State Overview (opens in new tab)

AI regulatory sandboxes are an important part of the implementation of the EU AI Act. According to Article 57 of the AI Act, each Member State must establish at least one AI regulatory sandbox at the national level by 2 August 2026. This post provides an overview of how different EU Member States are approaching the design and implementation of these sandboxes, as well as of EU-wide initiatives that support them.
