She had previously floated the idea of driving three and a half hours to Virginia Beach to meet an online friend, Megan, but one look at the interstate traffic around Richmond after leaving the airport cured her of that particular aspiration. Instead, Megan, her husband, and his three kids made a day of coming up here to meet her and travel around the area.
