City Council passes crackdown on black market air bag sales as police struggle to address skyrocketing thefts (opens in new tab)

Chicago police had arrested just one person in more than 1,200 air bag thefts recorded over the first four months of this year, the Sun-Times found. Ald. Gilbert Villegas has said he proposed the new ordinance targeting resellers to give police another "tool" to address the growing problem.
