If you look at the secondary literature on Hume’s reception of Montesquieu you will quickly notice that five topics predominate: first, they have differing views on national character; second, they have different views on the growth/decline of population; third, they have differing views on the British constitution; fourth, they have differing views on the ancient origins of liberty; fifth they seem to have overlapping views on the role of commerce and luxury (and political economy/debt, etc.).
