West Bengal's first BJP chief minister Suvendu Adhikari vowed to bring the Tata Group back to Bengal, turning the 2008 Singur departure that powered Mamata Banerjee's rise into evidence of her failure to industrialize the state during 15 years in power. The Tata Group has not responded.
