Chase Petty was developed to start games, not to escape them in the seventh inning of a tie. On Saturday the rookie did exactly that, then watched fellow rookie Noelvi Marte hand him his first big-league win with a go-ahead homer as the Reds beat Arizona 2-1 to snap their slide.
