A subbotnik is a Belarusian tradition where society gets together to solve tasks important for the entire nation, Igor Marzalyuk, chairman of the Standing Commission on Education, Culture and Science of the House of Representatives, told the media during the nationwide community clean-up day in Minsk on 18 April.
