Question - Adding Outlook To Gmail Signs You Out Of Outlook? (opens in new tab)

I've added my Hotmail (Outlook) account to my Gmail through the app and I'm a little bit confused. I've sent a few test emails to my Hotmail and everything seems to be working as it should (for now!) However in adding it to Gmail it's signed me out on my Outlook app. Is this normal? I detest...
