Gmail App Reports No Emails in Most Categories When in Deed They Do Contain Emails (opens in new tab)

When I opened my Gmail app I got a screen with Inbox, Unread, Starred, and a lot of other categories\.The only catagory that reported emails in it was the Trash category\. All the rest had no numbers after them, indicating they did not contain any any emails\. So I tapped Sent and found 12 old emails in that category\. Then I tapped Important and found an email in that category\. I got the same results for the rest of the categories except for the Trash, and that category reported 6 emails\. ...
