Update my s22 (opens in new tab)

I currently have s22 but have screen issue with a lcd dot \. It will cost me $200 to fix it Should I get new phone instead and if so what s series would you recommend\. I don't want to spend a lot I've been looking at s24 or s25fe but I read about software updates giving issue's
