What I check before installing Android apps outside Play Store (opens in new tab)

For APKs or app downloads outside Google Play, my usual checks are: 1\. Confirm the developer name and package name\. 2\. Avoid pages with multiple fake download buttons\. 3\. Check permissions before first launch\. 4\. Scan the APK file before installing\. 5\. Keep Play Protect enabled\. 6\. Prefer the official developer page when possible\. Is there anything else Android users here usually check before installing an app?
