In early April 2026, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released the annual benchmark revision to state employment data for 2025. Before this benchmark revision, the data showed positive job growth in 2025 in just over two-thirds of US states: 34 of 50. The median job growth rate was 0.45%.
