Can-kicking redux: the destined end of article-delivery vendors (opens in new tab)

Once the Big Deal can-kicking became unsupportable, libraries commonly resorted to article-delivery vendors as a sort of ersatz interlibrary loan. Patron wants article, library does not subscribe to any Big Deal containing article, library pays small fee to get article from article-delivery vendor for patron.
