Around 2005, I discovered podcasts. I didn’t have an iPod at the time. Instead I used the Dell Axim X3 Pocket PC. For years, I connected it to my computer with a cable and imported podcast files to it. I think some were available via Windows Media Player. But it didn’t take long for me to switch to iTunes, and years later I used various iPods. Whatever I loaded onto my device, that’s all I had in my pocket for the day. No wifi or cellular updating over the airwaves.
