The World Meteorological Organization said global average temperatures will likely remain at or near record levels from 2026 through 2030, with the five-year average projected at 1.3C to 1.9C above the 1850-1900 average. The WMO said there is an 86% chance that at least one year in that period will surpass 2024 as the warmest on record, and a 91% chance that at least one year will temporarily exceed 1.5C above pre-industrial levels.
