Researchers at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany said ordinary Wi-Fi networks can identify people by analyzing how their bodies alter radio signals, achieving 99.5% accuracy in the study described by the researchers. The technique uses standard Wi-Fi routers and can work without specialized hardware, without access to the target network and even when the person being identified is not carrying a wireless device.
