Romanian director Mungiu wins second Cannes Palme d’Or (opens in new tab)

Romanian filmmaker Cristian Mungiu won the Palme d’Or at the 79th Cannes Film Festival on Saturday for “Fjord,” a Norway-set drama about political polarization and a Romanian Evangelical family whose children are taken by child services after their parents spank them.
