California’s June 2 primary remained unresolved early Wednesday as officials continued counting votes in the race to replace term-limited Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, with Republican Steve Hilton and Democrat Xavier Becerra leading and Democrat Tom Steyer in third in partial returns.
