Pope Leo blesses Sagrada Familia’s 172.5-metre tower (opens in new tab)

Pope Leo XIV celebrated Mass on Wednesday, June 10, at Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia and blessed the basilica’s newly completed Tower of Jesus Christ, a 172.5-metre spire that makes Antoni Gaudí’s unfinished church the world’s tallest church. The service lasted about 90 minutes, included a 600-singer choir and was attended by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia.
