NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope observed the exoplanet HD 80606 b as its temperature rose rapidly while its highly elliptical 111-day orbit carried it close to a Sun-like star, according to preliminary findings presented at the 248th meeting of the American Astronomical Society in Pasadena, California.
