Wessex Archaeology said archaeologists identified a 5,000-year-old wooden monument at Bulford, about 5 km (3 miles) from Stonehenge in Wiltshire, that may have served as an early model for Stonehenge’s later solar alignment. The structure consisted of two wooden posts set 120 metres apart and aligned with the sunrise at the summer solstice and sunset at the winter solstice.
