Anthropic seeks coordinated option to slow frontier AI development (opens in new tab)

Anthropic, the San Francisco company behind the Claude chatbot, proposed a coordinated and verifiable system for leading AI developers to slow or temporarily pause frontier AI development if advanced systems begin improving themselves faster than society can manage the risks.
