Beer companies are preparing for record World Cup demand as analysts estimate fans could drink an additional 1 billion pints during the 2026 tournament. The competition has expanded to 48 teams and 104 matches from the 64-game format used at recent tournaments, and Jefferies estimated the 39-day event could add 5.9 million hectolitres of beer, equal to about 0.2% to 0.3% of annual industry volumes in 2026.
