USDA confirms second Texas calf with screwworm (opens in new tab)
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service confirmed a second New World screwworm infestation on June 5, this one in a one-month-old calf in Zavala County, Texas. The case was about 5.6 miles, or 9 kilometers, from the first recent U.S. detection in the same county.
