Oil prices jumped Monday after Iran’s Tasnim news agency said Tehran had suspended indirect talks with Washington and would consider a complete closure of the Strait of Hormuz in response to Israel’s expanding military operations in Lebanon. Brent crude closed 4.2% higher at $94.98 a barrel after trading as high as $97.79, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate rose 5.5% to $92.16 after rising about 7% to 8% earlier.
