Apple adds custom EQ to latest AirPods (opens in new tab)
Apple announced at WWDC 2026 on June 8 that AirPods will get a custom equalizer in the iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS 27 public releases planned for this fall. The feature will work with AirPods Max 2, AirPods Pro 3 and AirPods 4, which Engadget said all use Apple's H2 audio chip.
