US existing-home sales rise 3.2% in May (opens in new tab)
Sales of previously owned U.S. homes rose 3.2% in May from April to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.17 million, the National Association of Realtors said Tuesday. The pace was the fastest since December and topped forecasts, including a Dow Jones estimate of 4.05 million. The increase followed a slow start to the spring selling season, while borrowing costs and prices remained high.
