AI startup Anthropic raises $65 billion, overtakes OpenAI (opens in new tab)

Anthropic said Thursday it raised $65 billion in Series H funding at a $965 billion post-money valuation, putting the maker of Claude ahead of OpenAI among privately held AI companies. The San Francisco company said its run-rate revenue crossed $47 billion earlier in May as enterprises adopted Claude for coding and other work.
