MIT spinout Gen9, co-founded by MIT Media Lab professor and inventor Joseph Jacobson, co-founder of E Ink, developed a method to synthesize DNA on silicon chips, which significantly cuts costs and accelerates the creation and testing of genes, to boost synthetic biology innovation.
