Why can't my workstation search the shared drive from the server? (opens in new tab)

My workstation is unable to perform any searches on a shared drive that is mapped from our server. When I try to search for files or folders using File Explorer on that specific network drive, the search either runs indefinitely without returning any results or immediately fails with an error, while local drives work perfectly fine.
