Passport application fees hiked from July 1: What it means for Indian travellers planning their next international trip (opens in new tab)

India is set to increase passport application fees starting July 1, 2026. Fresh 36-page passports will now cost ₹2,500, up from ₹1,500, while Tatkal services will see a hike to ₹5,000.
